Spirits have always been around us, made of a substance invisible to the eye. More often than not, spirits have affected our world and shaken its very core.
Some special individuals have the ability to see this other world and interact with it and its inhabitants. But not all spirits are good, and many do not have other's best interests at heart.
The spirit world is both joined and separate from the world of men. It overflows with miasma, the stuff that spirits are made of, and which seeps into the human world at specific locations. Entrances into the spirit world have been called "bridges" or "ley gates", and sometimes, unsuspecting humans walk through.
